The Cancer Association of Shelby County provides direct services to cancer patients in Shelby County to lessen the impact of this terrible disease.
When a diagnosis of cancer is received, many things that were once easy to plan or do can become difficult and your life can start to resemble a puzzle.
By fitting each “piece of the puzzle” together, we are able to offer a complete service to our community that helps cancer patients stay focused on their treatment and recovery.
The following areas represent some of the most common assistance we are called upon to provide:
Transportation
We offer financial assistance for those patients who are unable to furnish their own transportation to locations where specialized service is administered.
Supplies & Equipment
We have information about assistance programs, as well as some donated Medical and Nursing supplies to assist patients who otherwise might not be able to purchase their medical supplies and equipment.
Medication
We provide financial assistance to patients in need of medication, chemotherapy and radiation treatments.
In Home Assistance
We assist in providing in home care and assistance to maintain quality of life and a safe environment for patients who prefer to live at home.
Insurance
We provide financial assistance in paying health insurance premiums to ensure patients continued coverage.
Patient’s Human Service Program
We also have the ability to provide assistance to patients in need of basic necessities such as shelter and food.
